After Retiring from the U.S. Navy after a career in EOD. 

My wife and I wanted to enjoy doing something together, we decided to purchase a Ranch and raise and care for animals.

I had been raised around animals as a kid in the Midwest and loved that way of life. I wanted my lovely wife Elsa, which is where the “E” for E&C Cattle Ranch came from, She deserves top billing just because and to experience this way of life and just how enjoyable it is.

We slowly built up our herd and eventually started delivering our cattle to local sale barns, like many others do in our area.

But the prices we were getting for our cattle, did not even cover what we were investing to raise them.

We were not trying to make a living by any means, but we did not like the feeling that we were basically giving our animals away. 

We had been delivering amazing cattle, and decided we needed to stop that process, and figure out a better way to do things.

My Wife and I sat down and discussed what we could do to keep our Cattle Ranch relevant. 

After discussing many different options, we decided to change from a Cow/Calf Operation to a Finished Beef Operation.

We would keep our Premium Registered Angus and Sim Angus calves and raise and finish them.

For our operation it was simple since we would not have to change our day-to-day operations, we would simply keep them on the Ranch, and  allow them access to grain the last 90-120 days.

Once the Cattle were in finished condition, we simply deliver them to our local processor. Our customers are able to pick up their fully customized beef orders directly from the processor.

With this simple change we would remove the Local Sale Barns completely from the equation, and our customers LOVE our Beef, so problem solved.

Our small 125-acre Cattle Ranch located in Northwest Florida, that now raises Cattle specifically for the consumer.

We do not use Hormones, Steroids, anything MNRA on our Cattle, there is no regular exposure to Antibiotics or Chemicals either. Our Beef is 100% Organic and that’s the way it has always been since we started.

The E&C Cattle Ranch raises Premium Registered Black Angus and Registered Sim Angus Cattle.

They are the highest quality Beef in the country, our genetics are the finest available in the World, and we pull samples and send them for analysis every calving season.

We are able to compare our cattle against the largest Angus database, in the world. If we feel that there are areas, like tenderness, ribeye area, docility, etc. We simply enhance the herd with our Bull selection via A.I. for the next season, “Smarter not harder“.
